Mini-Society is an exciting hands-on unit that teaches students about government, economics, and character skills. This program has been endorsed by the United States Department of Education.
In this innovative program, students will establish their own society, print their own money, open their own businesses, and create their own government. This experience will help your child understand more about entrepreneurship, economics, government, law, math, and ethics.
In addition to subject-learnings, the students will work cooperatively and actively in problem solving—trying to find creative and workable solutions to the numerous problems that occur in any society.
This unit will run from mid-January to May.
Social Studies is a great subject area that gives our students the opportunity to learn more about the world around them. Our main areas of focus in second grade are:
Government and Citizenship
History and Geography
