Hello, my name is Mrs. Bunton. This is my tenth year teaching and my eighth at Dundee. Before teaching at Dundee I taught English for two years in Japan on the island of Shikoku. I attended NWU in Lincoln and earned my Master's degree in Curriculum + Instruction from UNK.
I am married to my tech-loving husband, Andrew, and have one beautiful son named Hugh. We are regulars at local coffee shops and the zoo! We love Omaha and try to take advantage of all that it offers.
A few things I love are volleyball, music, traveling, and being creative with my students in the classroom. A few highlights to my year are always reading dystopian novels, recreating Shark Tank with student-lead inventions/innovations, and the NeSA Olympics.
Here at Dundee, we are departmentalized in 6th grade. I am the reading teacher and I truly love to see all the novels that my kids fall in love with. We read out of our Basal reading book, as well as choose novels based off of a variety of themes. Some of the themes we study are: Disability, Dystopian, Graphic Novels, Mysteries, Verse, Holocaust, and Challenged/Obstacles.
